Tuesday morning, 2 Grade 1 students helped collect 2 monarch caterpillars from the Learning Garden's milkweed plants and brought them to the grade 1 classroom. In their terrarium they will happily munch milkweed while they grow into larger caterpillars, and hopefully into butterflies. Grade 1 science curriculum includes studying living things and this will be a great up close way for them to observe the monarch life cycle.
