We have our first garden bed constructed! Thank you to all the parents and friends of parents who helped out with this bed. The kids and the butterflies thank you! The construction took place Sunday, June 4. We also made some minor revisions to the plan for the raised beds, which will go to the right of the flagpole. We have decided to build those as soon as possible after school starts again in September.
The plant pictures show a couple of the creatures that have moved into our garden in just the week plus that we have had plants in the ground. We have Painted Lady eggs on our pussytoes, and monarch eggs and caterpillars on our milkweed. There are a small and dedicated group of students who check the plants carefully each day to keep an eye on the new garden residents.
