Inaugural Post

Here's a post to describe the who, what, why, when and how of School Greening at New Central.  Blog to be expanded later if decided to be a useful tool.

Our goal as a committee is to support the efforts of the administration of New Central School to maintain and improve the school's outdoor facilities to support learning, specifically in the areas of science and the environment.

Our pilot project is to plant a Butterfly Garden and other Learning Gardens this spring.  We are currently planning our project and are seeking the input of Eco Club, parents, teachers and students so we can have the best plan.  We are applying for a grant in March and will also be fundraising.  After a successful first garden launch, we are hopeful to implement an outdoor classroom as well as other staff, student and parent-desired initiatives.
